PCMC Kick Starts Vaccination Drive For Elderly And Bedridden People

Pimpri-Chinchwad, 1st June 2021: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has undertaken a campaign to easily vaccinate the elderly and bedridden people in Pimpri Chinchwad against COVID-19.

The drive to vaccinate such people by visiting their homes began on Tuesday in the presence of Mayor Usha Dhore and BJP leader Namdev Dhake.

A 75-year-old man was vaccinated at his home in Dhore Nagar in Sangvi in the presence of the mayor, while an 88-year-old man at Rail Vihar in Bijli Nagar was vaccinated in the presence of ruling party leader Namdev Dhake.

Additional Health Medical Officer Dr Pawan Salve, Medical Officer Dr Varsha Dange, Senior Medical Officer at Sanghvi Hospital Dr Vijaya Ambedkar, Senior Medical Officer at Talera Hospital Rajendra Firke, Dr Vidya Phad-Mundhe, and Dr Seema Bade-Morale were present during the vaccination.

The municipal corporation has taken various measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in Pimpri Chinchwad city. The measures have been implemented by setting up COVID-19 Vigilance Committees at the ward level through micro-planning. The civic body has taken up the objective of a large-scale vaccination drive to protect the citizens from COVID-19.

Daily vaccinations have been planned and managed according to the availability of vaccines.

In Pimpri-Chinchwad city, the process of vaccinating the elderly and bedridden citizens has started as they are unable to come to the vaccination centres. The civic body has arranged vehicles for transport through CSR to the team of staff who go to these people’s homes and vaccinate them. For this, Uber has taken the initiative to provide ten four-wheelers for use free of charge. Mayor Usha Dhore and BJP party leader Namdev Dhake have thanked the management of Uber for this.

Mayor Dhore and BJP leader Dhake have appealed to the elderly and bedridden citizens of the city to register on the PCMC’s official application ‘Me Jababdar’ for getting vaccinated against COVID-19 easily.
