Akurdi, July 1, 2020: The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) had stopped recording meter readings of power consumers for the last three months due to COVID-19. Customer meter readings were not taken for about three months to prevent corona outbreaks.

As soon as the lockdown is relaxed, MSEDCL has started taking meter readings of electricity customers and a combined three-month electricity bill has been sent to the customers.

Yesterday Bhosari constituency MLA Anna Bansode met Pankaj Tagadpallewar, MSEDCL’s Superintending Engineer of Ganeshkhind Division and Wayfalkar, Executive Engineer of Pimpri Division regarding this matter. Bansode suggested that the regular meter readings’ errors should be rectified immediately, and the appropriate electricity bills should be rectified to the customers.

“Installments should be fixed for the payment of these bills as well as co-operate with the domestic electricity consumers during the Corona epidemic. Necessary care should be taken to ensure smooth power supply in the city. With the onset of monsoon, power outages are likely to increase”, Bansode said.

If there is any defect in the electricity bill, the customer should visit the nearest office. He further instructed the MSEDCL officials to make a joint detailed project report (DPR) of the equipment required for power supply in the city and the necessary funds for laying power lines.
