Bhosari, December 9, 2020: An international multi-purpose stadium is being constructed at Moshi. This work has been approved by the administration in the municipal general meeting.

MLA Mahesh Landage had proposed to build an international standard stadium in Bhosari assembly constituency under ‘Vision-2020’. In that connection, an international standard stadium with a capacity of 25,000 seats will be constructed. The proposal of this suggestion on 11 acres of land was approved in the general body meeting on Tuesday.

MLA Landage made efforts to start the Fine Arts Department, Government Engineering College and an Education Center in Bhosari Assembly constituency. And now, he has come up with the international standard stadium.

Mayor Mai Dhore presided over the general meeting of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. On Survey No. 444 (Old 445) Reservation No. 1/204 the international stadium construction proposal should be approved as suggested by former mayor Nitin Kalje. This suggestion has been approved by the former mayor Rahul Jadhav. The multi-purpose stadium will be constructed at a cost of around Rs 300 crore. It has received the administrative approval of the General Assembly.

“The city of Pimpri-Chinchwad does not yet have a single stadium of international standard. The proposed stadium will be ambitious in terms of promoting the sports sector in the city. The proposal has received administrative approval and a project consultant will now be appointed. The tender process will be implemented as the plan has been approved. The stadium will be completed in the next two to two and a half years. The stadium will make the city internationally known”, Sanjay Sali, Deputy Engineer, BRTS Department.

“We have travelled to other cities in the country or abroad to watch sports competitions. At that time, we felt that our city should have such a grand stadium. Players from home and abroad should come to our city. The name of the city should be given priority in the sports field. That is why we have taken up the task of constructing an international standard stadium by following up with the municipal administration”, MLA Landage said.
