Guwahati, 6th September 2022: The Assam government recently demolished three madrasas over terrorist connections. Now another madrasa has been demolished though the administration has no hand in it.

This time public anger erupted in protest against the ongoing Jihadi activities in the madrasa and it was demolished by the local people.

The incident is of Pakhiura Char of Gopalpara district. According to the CPRO of Assam Police, two Bangladeshis lived in this madrasa and they run a jihadi agenda. Both of them are absconding.

The fourth madrasa in Assam has been demolished. Maulvi Jalaluddin Sheikh, who runs this madrasa, was arrested a few days ago on charges of anti-national activities.

According to reports, Sheikh had appointed Bangladeshi citizens as teachers. Both of them were members of the al-Qaeda Indian subcontinent and the Ansarullah Bangla team.

According to the police officer, there was anger among the people against the jihadi activities. In the past, the Assam government had run bulldozers on three madrasas in Morigaon, Barpeta and Bongaigaon districts.

Gwalpada SP VV Rakesh Reddy said, “The local people themselves came forward and broke the madrasa. The government had no hand in this. The people here were also surprised that the jihadis who were arrested used to teach in the madrassa. By doing this, people have given a strong message that they will not support Jihadi activities at all.”
