Phone and Video Call Confrontation Between IPS Officer Anjana Krishna and Ajit Pawar Goes Viral
Solapur, 5th September 2025: A heated confrontation took place between Karmala-based woman IPS officer DSP Anjana Krishna and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar over phone and video call during an action against illegal sand excavation in Kurdu village of Madha taluka, Solapur. The incident has sparked discussions on social media, with video footage of the exchange going viral.
DSP Krishna had reached Kurdu village to investigate complaints regarding unauthorized sand excavation for road construction. Tensions escalated on-site between villagers and the officer when activists reportedly called Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar to intervene.
During the phone call, Ajit Pawar identified himself as “DCM Ajit Pawar” and asked DSP Krishna to halt her action. However, the officer refused to acknowledge him, stating he should call her directly on her personal phone. The conversation reportedly escalated, with Ajit Pawar warning, “I will take action against you. Do you have so much courage? You will recognize my face, right?” The Deputy CM later initiated a direct video call to DSP Krishna.
During the nearly three-hour-long exchange, Ajit Pawar again instructed the officer to stop the action and coordinate with the local Tehsildar. Social media users have widely circulated the video of the interaction, generating significant public interest.
Villagers claimed that the sand excavation was approved by the Gram Panchayat, but no official documents were presented to substantiate this. DSP Krishna proceeded with the action, while activists allegedly escalated the situation by involving the Deputy Chief Minister.
No formal complaints have been filed with the police regarding the incident. DSP Anjana Krishna, the local Tehsildar, and SDO have not made official statements but confirmed that the matter is under investigation.
