Photograph is ‘Minimum Expresssion’ – Vaibhav Joshi

Pune, February 7, 2020: “There are many ways to express oneself and it can be done through words, songs or poems but the minimum way to express yourself is through photographs. A Photograph is ‘Minimum Expression’,” said Vaibhav Joshi, renowned poet and lyricist. He was speaking at the inauguration of a photo exhibition called ‘Drushtikon 2020’ organized by Photographers @ Pune also known as P@P today. Pune Police Commissioner, Dr. K. Venkatesham (IPS) was present at the exhibition which will be held till Sunday, February 9, 2020 between 10 am to 10 pm at Westend Mall in Aundh. The exhibition is free and open for all.

Shashank Pathak, ED and CEO, Westend Mall, Sunil Juneja of Digital Print Solutions, Abhijit Mutha, Founder, Primes and Zooms and members of P@P including Soumitra Inamdar, Chaitanya Khire, Prasad Shirgaonkar, Anand Jadhav and Bhushan Mate were present at the event.

“Whatever the medium, we should all express ourselves and preserve the art of expression,” Vaibhav Joshi added.

Armed with a camera and clicking photos himself, Top Cop, Dr. K. Venkatesham stated, “A photographer will ‘freeze’ everything he likes into his camera and one can see such stunning pictures on display at the exhibition. There are many amateur photographers in the police as well. So. to promote photography among the cops, we are setting up a ‘multi-activity center’ near Shivajinagar police headquarters for all cops to indulge in the art and learn.”

Drushtikon’ which is in its 10th year will feature an extravaganza of exclusive black and white photos and about 110 photographs by 85 photographers, selected from more than 5000 entries will be on display.

The photos have been taken across the globe, with every conceivable type of camera and apart from India, this year, the entries were sent by enthusiasts from Europe, the Middle East, and North America as well. Punekars, accordingly will get the chance to see world-class photos in categories including Landscapes, Portraits, Macro, Abstract, Wildlife, Street photography, Aerial photography and more; all in black and white at the exhibition.
