Pimpri Chinchwad DCP Externs 53 Criminals From Pune For Two Years In Last Eight Months

Pune 20th August 2023: The Deputy Commissioner of Pimpri Chinchwad’s Zone 1 Vivek Patil has externed a total of 53 on-record criminals from Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune City and Pune Rural jurisdictions for the period of two years following their involvement in multiple offences. The accused were found involved in criminal offences despite being arrested and punished in several cases in the past. However, to maintain law and order in the area, the DCP issued an order to extern them for two years after there was no improvement in their behaviour.

The action was taken after a detailed report about the criminal records of the accused was received from various police stations in Zone 1. Many of these criminals were involved in gang war activities that resulted in an increase in body offences in Pimpri Chinchwad. According to police, a total of 13 accused from Dapodi and Bhosari areas belonging to a gang were externed in just two days between August 16 and August 18. According to police, this will help reduce criminal activities in the district as the externed accused are repeat offenders.
