Pimpri-Chinchwad: Man Arrested 27 Years After Killing Wife

Pimpri, 18th January 2023: The Crime Branch Unit 1 of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police has succeeded in arresting the accused who was absconding after killing his wife in Pune’s Dapodi after 27 years. On 1st February 1995, Rama Kamble killed his wife, Sushila, suspecting her character.

After that, he went to Akkalkot instead of his native village. He was living in the same area after changing his name for almost 27 years. He found small jobs to do in the area to earn a living. There, he also married a deaf-mute girl. However, after almost 27 years, he was imprisoned by the police.

According to the police, Rama Kamble killed his wife Sushila on 1st February 1995, suspecting her character. Rama had absconded after killing her. He was only 27 years old then. Pune police were searching for him in his native village Kolnoor Pandhari district. Police were searching in Osmanabad. However, Rama changed his name to Ram Kondiba Bansode. He made the government documents. The villagers believed in Rama, who worked as hard as he could, and since he was alone, they arranged his marriage with a deaf-mute young woman. Rama used to visit his native village in Kurnool District Osmanabad from time to time to visit his mother. People in the village had heard a rumour that he got married.

Incidentally, a few days ago, the police of Crime Branch Unit 1 reached Kolnoor Osmanabad to search for an accused in a molestation case. The accused was also handcuffed by the police. Meanwhile, the police in that village started the investigation again in the case of absconding accused Rama Kamble from the same village. It came to light that Rama was coming to the village from time to time, and the police got information that he had remarried and was living in Akkalkot. Rama had been living with a mute-deaf woman for 27 years. They also have three children. He used to work in a brick kiln for some months in Palanpur and some months in the Urse Maval area of Pune. He was handcuffed by Crime Branch Unit 1 from Urse Maval.

The accused Rama, who had been lying to the police for 27 years, has finally been jailed. The team of police personnel Kanade, Mulla, Borhade, Kamle, Hirwalkar, More, Jaibhai, Sarode, and Rupanwar has performed this feat under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Crime Police Swapna Gore, Senior Police Inspector Dnyaneshwar Katkar.
