Pune, 18th April 2023: Five laborers were killed, and three were seriously injured when an advertisement board collapsed on the Dehu Road-Katraj bypass. Pimpri MLA Anna Bansode has expressed his condolences for the deceased persons and demanded that the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) provide Rs five lakh to the family of the deceased and Rs two lakh to the injured.

“The Municipal Corporation is entirely responsible for this, and the illegal two-storeyed and substandard billboards, lifted using substandard materials, are a sight of irresponsibility in the Municipal Corporation’s Skysign Department”, he said.

Bansode stated that PCMC should conduct an immediate structural audit of all hoardings in the city and determine responsibility. Immediate action should be taken against double-storied and large-sized billboards. Until unauthorized, double-storied, and large-sized billboards are removed, the Municipal Corporation should take responsibility for accidents occurring at these places and the citizens who suffer from such accidents.
