Pune: Trio Booked for Firing Pistols Near Khadakwasla Dam as a ‘Fun’ Activity

Khadakwasla, 18th April 2023: The trend of firing licensed pistols for fun has caught on with the youth in the catchment area of Khadakwasla Dam, leading to an incident of creating terror by firing in a public place.

Tejas Ganage, Ajinkya Modak, and Chetan More have been booked by the Haveli police station (Pune rural police) for firing a pistol near the dam while returning from a walk in the Sinhagad area.

After receiving complaints from citizens and restaurant operators, the police conducted an immediate investigation and detained the trio. The investigation revealed that Tejas, who carried the pistol, had a valid weapon license. However, the police have registered a case against the three under the charge of creating terror by firing in a public place.

Police Sub-Inspector Rituja Mohite is investigating the case.
