Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Orders Cops To Do Foot Patrolling During Evening Peak Hours To Curb Crimes

Pimpri, 29th December 2022: Many times, police officers are seen sitting in police stations while crimes are taking place, which does not prevent crime. Now, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey has decided to appoint police officers on the road.

The police commissioner has ordered the officers of all police stations to patrol the streets on foot from 5 pm to 8 pm to prevent crimes on the night of 31st December.

Choubey took charge as the Police Commissioner of Pimpri-Chinchwad on 14th December. He has been emphasizing ‘basic policing’. The commissioner has ordered the police officers including inspectors of all police stations to conduct patrols every evening from 5 pm to 8 pm to prevent crime on the streets.

After taking charge of the Commissioner’s post, Choubey met all the officials and held a meeting to get information about the city for the first four days. After that, he has now started visiting the police stations in the city to get first-hand information of the area under the jurisdiction of the police station, the nature of the crimes registered, the people who have come and settled in the urban areas where the criminals and their families and their well-wishers live, etc.

Citizens come to the streets in large numbers to welcome the New Year. Pimpri-Chinchwad has a large population of students and workers from many states. Therefore, the Commissioner has ordered all officers to take three to four officials along with them to patrol to prevent any untoward incident on December 31. Mandatory visits to markets, main chowks, mixed population areas, and slums have been ordered while patrolling.
