Pune: About 3,000 Cops To Be Deployed For Peaceful Celebration Of New Year
Pune, 29th December 2022: Pune Police has tightened its belt from the perspective of security in the background of the New Year. Accordingly, about 2,700 personnel, including senior officials, have been deployed across the city. The police have warned of strict action against those indulging in hooliganism and drunken driving.
Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr has appealed to the citizens to follow the rules and cooperate with the police while welcoming the new year.
Citizens everywhere throng the streets in large numbers to welcome the New Year. Accordingly, precautions have been taken by the police to avoid law and order problems in crowded places and sensitive areas. People gather, especially in Camp areas, and JM Road and FC Road in Shivajinagar besides malls and hotels. Orders have been given to ensure there is no accident or stampede anywhere.
Important and crowded places will be checked by dog squads along with bomb detection and disposal squads (BDDS). Quick response teams (QRTs) have been deployed in strategic and important places.
