Pimpri Chinchwad Police Identify Woman Found Dead in Sack on Mumbai-Pune Expressway

Talegaon Dabhade, 26th November 2024: The body of a woman was discovered in a sack at Shirgaon Phata on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, under the jurisdiction of Talegaon Dabhade Police Station, yesterday. The police have identified the woman, though the cause of her death remains unknown. The deceased woman has been identified as Nita Sharad Gosavi (45), a resident of Lohgaon, Pune.
According to the police, the woman’s body was found dumped in a sack at Shirgaon Phata. Talegaon Dabhade Police swiftly responded to the scene and took the body into custody. Initially, there were challenges in identifying the woman, but she was later confirmed to be from Lohgaon. She had been missing since Saturday (23rd November), and a missing person report was filed at the Airport Police Station on Sunday (24th November).
The discovery of her body has led to speculation that she was murdered and her body was then discarded in the sack. The autopsy report is awaited, and the exact cause of death will be determined after its findings. Senior Police Inspector Pradeep Rayannawar, in charge of Talegaon Dabhade Police Station, stated that further action will be taken once the report is received.
