Pimpri, 18th January 2023: From 9th January to 15th January, a special drive was carried out by the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate’s Traffic branch to target drivers who were breaking the law. Vehicles with tinted glass, ornate licence plates, or licence plates that didn’t follow the laws, have all been caught.

The Pimpri Chinchwad Commissionerate has jurisdiction over the Chakan, Bhosari, and Talegaon industrial regions, Hinjewadi, Talawade, and Chikhali IT Park sectors. Due to the high population of people who work in the region, traffic offences occur frequently. The traffic department started this push to decrease the infraction.

The action was taken against 4,853 individuals during the campaign, and a fine of Rs 40,31,600 was obtained from them. There were fines of Rs 27,43,700 and Rs 12,87,900 for 2,022 cases of number plates and 2,831 cases of tinted glass in four-wheelers respectively. Citizens are urged to obey traffic laws going forward as these activities will be handled differently by the Traffic department, according to police authorities.
