Pimpri Chinchwad Police Seize 4,047 Litres of Illegal Liquor Ahead of Maharashtra Elections
Pimpri Chinchwad, 19th November 2024: In three separate actions under the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC), a total of 4,047 litres of illegal liquor were seized ahead of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections scheduled for tomorrow. The seized liquor, valued at Rs 1.57 lakh, led to cases being registered against three individuals, including two women. These actions took place within the jurisdictions of Alandi, Sant Tukaram Nagar, and Chakan Police Stations.
The first action involved a woman resident of Alandi, taken by Crime Branch Unit 3 of PCPC, where 117 litres of country-made liquor worth Rs 11,700 were seized. A case has been registered against the woman, and Police Constable Yogeshwar Kolekar reported the incident to Alandi Police Station. Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Yadav is investigating the case.
In the second case, Crime Branch Unit 2 of PCPC raided an illegal liquor operation run by a woman in Sant Tukaram Nagar. During the raid, 130 litres of country-made liquor worth Rs 13,000 were seized. Police Constable Tejas Bhalchim reported the incident to Sant Tukaram Nagar Police Station, and a case has been registered against the woman. Assistant Police Sub-Inspector More is investigating the matter.
The third case involved the arrest of Rohit Jangati Rajput, a resident of Bahul in Khed Taluka, by Crime Branch Unit 3 for possessing raw materials to produce 400 litres of liquor and 3,800 litres of country-made liquor worth Rs 1,33,000. Police Constable Sandeep Sonawane reported the incident to Chakan Police Station. Police Constable Gadhave is investigating the case further.
