Pimpri Chinchwad Records Over 3,000 Missing Person Cases in 2024, 40% Still Untraced

Pimpri Chinchwad, 18th December 2024: This year, within the jurisdiction of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC), 3,361 people have been reported missing at various police stations. Of these, the Pimpri Chinchwad Police have managed to locate nearly 60%, while over 40% remain missing. Among those reported missing are 398 minor girls.

In this age of social media, individuals are often influenced by various factors, making them vulnerable to danger. Many men go missing due to the lure of money, while women, including minors and adults, often disappear due to promises of marriage. Additionally, senior citizens suffering from conditions like dementia and Alzheimer’s sometimes wander off and go missing, with some being found while others remain untraced.

Over the past 11 months, of the total 3,361 missing persons, 1,957 have been located, accounting for 58.22%, while 1,404 remain missing, representing 41.77%. Among those found, 835 are women and 695 are men. However, 727 women and 575 men are still untraced, while 89 minor girls and 13 minor boys remain missing.
