Pimpri Chinchwad: Strict action to be taken against providing false information during COVID test
Pimpri, September 1, 2020: The persons providing misleading information while getting tested for Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) will be penalised by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal corporation (PCMC), said Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar. He mentioned this at a meeting of PCMC officials regarding the measures implemented by the Corporation to curb the spread of COVID-19.
PCMC is extensively conducting COVID-19 tests by identifying suspected persons in different areas. While the Corporation has appealed to the people to cooperate, it has been found that some people have been providing false personal information like fake names, addresses, contact numbers, etc. This is not allowing the PCMC officials to enforce all the required measures. Thus, Hardikar has stated that strict action will be taken against those giving false information.
In order to prevent community transmission, PCMC has been focussing on the testing of the traders, daily wage labourers and the cleaners. At the same time, Hardikar has also advised that the industries must conduct testing of their employees on priority.
