Moshi, 15th September 2025: History and heritage converged in Pimpri-Chinchwad as the towering statue of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj at Moshi was officially recognized by the London Book of Records as the tallest statue of Sambhaji Maharaj in the world.

Standing at an awe-inspiring 100 feet, the bronze structure, titled as the Statue of Hindubhushan, is nearing completion at the International Industrial Exhibition Centre, Moshi. Conceived by MLA Mahesh Landge as a tribute to the legendary Maratha warrior-king, the ₹48-crore project is being funded by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). It will also anchor a larger cultural theme park, Shambu Srushti, within the same complex.

The recognition was celebrated in a spectacular ceremony infused with devotion and tradition. The venue reverberated with the thunder of 3,000 dhols, 1,000 tashas, and 500 saffron flags, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of Maratha glory.

Traditional mardani khel performances showcased martial arts of the era, while santpeeth artists from Chikhali filled the air with devotional music. Young Shivbhakts joined in with chants that echoed across the grounds.

Renowned singer Avadhoot Gandhi added to the emotional resonance with his stirring renditions of Shiv Geet, uniting thousands of devotees in a heartfelt chorus dedicated to Sambhaji Maharaj.

Beyond being an architectural marvel, the statue stands as a global cultural landmark symbolizing the valor, sacrifice, and indomitable spirit of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. With Shambu Srushti set to further enhance the cultural experience, the Moshi project is poised to become a magnet for history enthusiasts, devotees, and tourists alike.
