Pimpri: PCMC Ranks First Again Among 28 Municipal Corporations In Maharashtra
Pimpri, 3rd February 2023: When compared against the other 27 Municipal Corporations in Maharashtra, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) received 6.23 out of 10 points, earning top place. Services, availability, transparency, a mobile app, a formal government website, and social media handles were all taken into consideration during the poll.
The Policy Research Organization (PRO) examines the state’s municipal corporations’ e-governance each year. Every year, the organisation analyses the websites of the state’s municipal corporations based on the three findings of service, transparency, and availability to issue the E-Governance Index of the Municipal Corporation.
The e-Governance Index from the Policy Research Organization is the sole research endeavour of its kind. The main goal of creating this index is to give citizens and government organisations equal power, to enable citizen participation in information technology advancements, to offer new platforms for information exchange and service delivery, to engage with the government and citizens through the digital revolution, and at the levels of urban and rural self-government.
The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation earned the top spot the previous year as well. The group performed a thorough evaluation this year and revised the criteria. The PCMC municipality received high ratings on each of the three fronts that were reviewed separately—its website, mobile application, and social media—and took first place in the state. The website and mobile app did well in terms of accessibility, responsiveness, and transparency, three key factors.
