Pimpri: PCMC Seals 50 Apartments In A Day As Warning For Tax Evaders
Pimpri-Chinchwad, 25th November 2022: The property tax division of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) sealed 50 apartments in 24 hours from Wakad, Chinchwad, Ravet, and Pimple Saudagar to issue a harsh warning to all tax evaders in the Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. Despite numerous reminders, the owners of these homes did not pay the R. 55 lakh in taxes.
Nilesh Deshmukh, the deputy municipal commissioner and director of the property tax division, reported that they had stepped up their campaign against non-paying homeowners and had so far confiscated more than 300 residences. If residents don’t pay their taxes on time in the foreseeable future, the local body will step up the campaign. No matter what, after the tax payment deadline has passed, the defaulters’ apartments will be sealed.
Athiya in Pimpri, Panchavati in Ravet, Rainbow, Probo, and Mont Vert Seville in Wakad, Siona in Punawale, Shubhashree Woods in Pimple-Saudagar, Lifestyle and Mindspace Realty Queen Town in Chinchwad, and Devi Indrani in Talawade are just a few of the reputable communities where the seized apartments are situated.
Many tax defaulters began paying taxes as soon as their properties were taken, Deshmukh continued. Even after the seizure, some of them have refused to back down. The civic standing committee has decided and approved the process for auctioning such properties, and it will take place within 21 days following their seizure.
