PM Modi Calls for Building a Resilient Rural India at Grameen Bharat Mahotsav 2025

New Delhi, 4th January 2025: On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that the central government’s policies and decisions are infusing rural India with renewed energy, aiming to empower society as a whole.

PM Modi was speaking at the Grameen Bharat Mahotsav 2025 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, which celebrated the resilience and spirit of rural India, under the theme ‘Building a Resilient Rural India for Viksit Bharat 2047.’

During his address, the Prime Minister stated, “Our government’s intentions, policies, and decisions are revitalizing rural India. Our vision is to empower rural areas by transforming villages into vibrant hubs of growth and opportunity.”

He also touched upon India’s robust healthcare infrastructure, which is extending its reach to even the most remote villages. Reflecting on the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, PM Modi recalled how the world had questioned the ability of Indian villages to handle the crisis. He proudly stated that the government ensured that vaccines reached every corner of rural India, underscoring that inclusive economic policies are key to strengthening the rural economy.

“Our government has implemented special policies and initiatives over the past decade to support all sections of rural society,” he added. PM Modi further praised the NDA-led BJP government’s success in providing clean drinking water and basic amenities to households in millions of villages.

He highlighted the availability of improved healthcare options in over 1.5 lakh Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and noted the role of digital technology in connecting villages with the best doctors and hospitals through telemedicine services.

Focusing on economic empowerment, PM Modi pointed out the importance of inclusive economic policies tailored to the needs of every section of rural India. He mentioned that through the PM-KISAN scheme, the government has provided approximately Rs. 3 lakh crore in financial aid to farmers.

Additionally, agricultural loans have seen a 3.5-fold increase over the past 10 years, he said. “Just a few days ago, the Cabinet approved the continuation of the PM Fasal Bima Yojana for another year,” he added.

PM Modi also highlighted the success of the Centre’s efforts to reduce poverty, citing a report by SBI that noted rural poverty fell from about 26% in 2012 to below 5% in 2024.
