New Delhi, 18th August 2025: The Central Government on Monday launched the official portal for the ‘Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana’ (PMVBRY), a major employment-linked incentive scheme aimed at generating over 3.5 crore jobs between August 2025 and July 2027.

Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh L. Mandaviya unveiled the portal, announcing that the scheme carries a massive outlay of ₹1 lakh crore. The benefits are designed for both employers and first-time employees entering the workforce.

How the Scheme Works:
Approved by the Union Cabinet on July 1, 2025, PMVBRY provides financial incentives to encourage fresh employment. From August 1, 2025, to July 31, 2027, eligible employees and employers can register via the official portals https://pmvbry.epfindia.gov.in or https://pmvbry.labour.gov.in, or through the Umang App using their Universal Account Number (UAN).

Benefits for Employees (Part A)
-First-time employees earning up to ₹15,000 per month (Basic + DA) will receive an incentive equal to one month’s average salary, disbursed in two installments.
-Workers with a total annual salary of up to ₹1 lakh are eligible.
-Facial Authentication Technology (FAT) on the Umang app will be used to generate UANs for new applicants.

Benefits for Employers (Part B)
Employers will receive incentives for hiring new workers:
-₹1,000 per employee (for salaries up to ₹10,000/month)
-₹2,000 (for salaries between ₹10,000–₹20,000/month)
-₹3,000 (for salaries up to ₹30,000/month)
-Employers can claim up to ₹3,000 per employee per month for two years, provided the new hires remain employed for at least six months.
-In the manufacturing sector, the benefit extends up to four years.
-Establishments with fewer than 50 employees must hire at least two new workers, while those with more than 50 employees must hire a minimum of five.

The scheme also includes establishments outside the purview of the Employees’ Provident Fund Act, 1952, provided they file e-challans and register employees’ UANs through the Umang app.

Highlighting the significance of the scheme, Minister Mandaviya said, “PMVBRY will give a major boost to employment creation across sectors. By extending financial support to both employers and employees, the scheme ensures fresh opportunities and long-term workforce stability.”

The Labour Ministry added that the initiative is expected to provide a strong push to manufacturing and service industries, helping India achieve its employment and economic growth goals under the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
