PM Modi Lays Foundation Stone For Redevelopment Of 508 Railway Stations, Three Stations From Pune Division

Pune 6th August 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday in an event laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment of 508 railway stations across the country. This includes three railway stations from the Pune division including Akurdi, Talegaon and Kolhapur railway station. A total of 16 railway stations from Pune division have been nominated for the redevelopment under ‘Amrit Bharat Station Redevelopment Scheme’.

 

The government is spending more than Rs 24,470 crores to redevelop the 508 stations spread across 27 states and union territories. A total of Rs 303.78 Crore will be spent to redevelop 16 stations in the Pune division. This includes Hadapsar, Talegaon, Dehuroad, Akurdi, Chichwad, Uruli, Kedgaon, Baramati, Lonand, Wathar, Satara, Karad, Sangli, Hatkanangle, Kolhapur and Phaltan Railway Station.

 

“There is new energy, new inspirations and new resolutions”, the Prime Minister said underlining that it is the beginning of a new chapter in the history of Indian Railway.

 

“These Amrit Railway stations will be a symbol of taking pride in one’s heritage and instill pride in every citizen” he added.
