PM Modi’s Visit to the US Leads To Tesla Hirings In India

Pune, 18th February: Tesla Inc has hirings in India, and this indicates a positive sign of Tesla’s Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk, meeting India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Five openings were available for various roles, including service technician and advisory roles, both in Mumbai and Delhi. The rest of the vacancies for engagement manager and delivery operations specialist were for Mumbai. The US visit of the PM last week with the CEO having a new role in Trump’s government led to major discussions, including business, taxes, and import duties.

India and Tesla have been in long-term association for fine business, though on and off, although the carmaker stayed away from the South Asian nation due to higher important duties. Now, India is reducing basic customs duty on high-end cars priced at $ 40,000 from 110% to 70%. India’s Electric Vehicle market has been formed recently and is still emerging a lot, and the first EV sales dropped over the decade with last year’s sale that neared 100,000 units.

In competition with China, India has a lower market for EVs. Newly formed markets, shifting interests, and import duties are some reasons for the decline. The assumptions remain the same as Musk’s meeting with Modi as a Trump cabinet member or as a CEO is still a point of discussion.

Elon Musk is seen making discussions and tech deals with other countries as well. Last month, Italy confirmed talks with Musk too for a deal to provide secure telecommunications for the nation’s government after Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni met with then-President-elect Trump in Florida.
