PM Narendra Modi Likely To Contest Lok Sabha Election From Pune : Reports

Pune 1st September 2023: Several reports have claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha election from Pune constiuency. It is also claimed that the he is likely to make more tours to Pune in the coming months and attend several events including inauguration of Pune Airport’s new terminal that is scheduled to be inaugurated in Septemeber this year.

The reports quoting sources have also claimed that the experts have already surveyed Pune constituency to find out a safe seat for PM to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha election. Interstingly, this came at a time when multiple names of senior leaders of BJP were discussed as the strong contenders of the party for Pune. The seat is currently vacant after the demise of sitting MP Girish Bapat and according to experts the Election Commission is less likely to announce bypoll for this seat.

However, the experts have also claimed that the Lok Sabha elections from Pune is not going to be that easy for Pune considering the recent loss of the party in the assembly bypoll election from Kasba constituency which was represented by later Girish Bapt for a long time.

It may be noted that former mayor Murlidhar Mohol, senior party leader Rajesh Pandey, former union minister Prakash Javdekar, MLA Siddharth Shirole and former MLA Jagdish Mulik’s names were discussed for the possible candidates of the party for constituency. Recently, the reports were also published that Sunil Devdhar who was credited for party’s presence in north east has also shown interest in contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha election from Pune.
