Pune Traffic Police Urge Citizens To Beware Of Cyber Fraudsters While Paying E-Challans Online
Pune 1st Sept 2023: The Pune Traffic Police department has urged the ctizens to beware of fraudsters using fake e-challan payment links to dup people in the name of paying their due for traffic violations. The police officials have come across several fake links which the accused are sending to the citizens to make online payment of their challans with an intention to cheat people.
The police have appealed citizens to check the authenticity of the links before making online payments as the fraudsters are using links that look very similar to the original one to dupe people. A Lok Adalat is scheduled in the city on Septemeber 9 to decide the pending cases of traffic rules violation by commuters. The traffic police had set up a helpdesk for citizens to assist in making in their e-challans payments with a reduced compounding charges beforre the scheduled Lok Adalat.
