Pune, 24 April 2021: Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) speaker Deepak Bidkar said that the PMC has the capacity to inoculate the entire city within 60 days.  He was speaking at a press conference on Friday.

When he was asked how to fight the shortage of vaccine in the city, he said that PMC can vaccinate the city provided we should be given permission to buy the vaccine from the Serum Institute of India.

Thwarting the Second Wave: Rapid Vaccination should be the primary tool and not lockdown.

“We will be using the same method which is used during elections. We will create booths and will send the slips to the people and will vaccinate the citizens. We are training the teachers and corporation employees for the drive”, he informed.

“After the first dose, the second dose will be given in a month’s time. We can complete the drive in 60 days. We need permission from the state and vaccines should be available to us”, he stated.
