PMC Cracks Down on Delays in Pune Infrastructure Projects

Pune, 10th April 2026: In a review aimed at accelerating key infrastructure works, Pune Municipal Corporation’s Additional Municipal Commissioner (Special) Omprakash Divte on Friday inspected multiple ongoing projects across the city and directed officials and contractors to adhere strictly to timelines.

The inspection was carried out in the presence of Chief Engineer (Projects) Dinkar Gojare and other concerned officials. The visit began at Sadhu Vaswani Bridge, followed by site inspections at the Aga Khan River Bridge project, Shastrinagar flyover and underpass, Vishrantwadi flyover and underpass, and the Bindu Madhav Thackeray Chowk flyover.

During the visit, Divte conducted a detailed review of each project, seeking updates on current status, progress, challenges, and future planning. He expressed concern over delays in execution and issued strict instructions to contractors to complete the works as per the schedule. Officials were also directed to take all necessary measures to speed up construction and ensure timely completion.

As part of improving monitoring, Divte instructed officials to prepare detailed bar charts for each project. These charts will undergo close scrutiny at his level to track progress and identify bottlenecks.

The administration has also decided to hold monthly review meetings to monitor project progress. One meeting will be conducted at the office, while another will be held on-site to ensure ground-level assessment.

The Pune Municipal Corporation’s project department is currently executing several key infrastructure projects aimed at strengthening the city’s civic framework. The administration reiterated its commitment to completing these projects within stipulated timelines.
