PMC Elections: BJP Candidates Release Women-Centric Roadmap for Lohgaon–Viman Nagar–Wagholi
Lohgaon, 12th January 2026: As campaigning for the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections enters its final phase, BJP candidates from Ward No. 3 (Lohgaon–Viman Nagar) Aishwarya Surendra Pathare, Dr Shreyas Pritam Khandve, Anil Satav and Ramdas Dabhade, on Sunday, unveiled a women-focused ward manifesto titled ‘Rajmata Jijau Sankalpnama’, aimed at addressing health, safety, skill development and economic empowerment of women in the Lohgaon–Viman Nagar–Wagholi belt.
The manifesto was released on the birth anniversary of Rajmata Jijau Saheb, with party leaders describing it as a pledge rooted in her ideals.
Addressing mediapersons, Aishwarya Pathare said the Sankalpnama reflects the everyday needs of women and seeks to ensure that they become active stakeholders in local development.
“On the occasion of Rajmata Jijau Saheb’s birth anniversary, we feel a deep sense of satisfaction in presenting the ‘Rajmata Jijau Sankalpnama’ to our citizens, especially our women sisters. This is a firm assurance of a safe, capable and self-reliant life for every woman in Lohgaon–Viman Nagar–Wagholi,” Pathare said.
Explaining the key provisions, she said the manifesto is structured around four pillars. “For women’s health, we have proposed free comprehensive health check-ups every year, along with regular breast and cervical cancer screening camps, creating a complete chain from prevention to treatment,” she said.
On skill development, Pathare announced the proposed Sant Muktai Knowledge Centre. “Through this centre, women will get access to skill training for home-based businesses and startups, English-speaking courses, employment guidance, AI training, and a safe, women-centric co-working space,” she added.
Women’s safety has also been given priority in the Sankalpnama. “Sant Janai bus services at 10-minute intervals, improved street lighting, a 24×7 women’s helpline, round-the-clock ambulance services and modern, well-equipped public toilets are part of our safety plan,” Dr Shreyas Khandve said.
She further said economic empowerment measures include scholarships for women sportspersons, financial support for innovative home-based enterprises, career guidance and scholarships for girl students, and assistance for competitive examinations.
Dabhade said the manifesto moves beyond symbolic commitments. “This Sankalpnama lays out clear and actionable measures focused on women’s health, education and financial independence. It is a structured plan that can be implemented at the ward level with measurable outcomes,” he said.
Anil Satav said the initiative reflects a governance model centred on accountability. “Rajmata Jijau’s ideals were about building strength, character and self-reliance. This Sankalpnama translates those values into concrete civic policies for today’s urban women,” Satav said.
Highlighting her professional background in engineering and information technology, Pathare linked the manifesto to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s ‘100 Days, 100 Works’ initiative. “I intend to work not only as a corporator, but as a project manager for Ward No. 3, ensuring time-bound and result-oriented governance,” she said, adding that the proposed measures would be taken door to door to ensure effective implementation.
With East Pune areas such as Lohgaon, Wagholi, Viman Nagar, Yerwada, Chandan Nagar and Kharadi witnessing rapid urban growth, party leaders said the women-centric Sankalpnama is aimed at ensuring that women benefit equally from the region’s development.
“Rajmata Jijau shaped Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Guided by the same ideals today, we want to empower women to shape their own future,” Pathare said.
