Pune: Police Seize Rs 14 Lakh DJ System, Truck Over Noise Violation

Pune, 16th September 2026: The Kalepadal police seized a DJ sound system and a Tata 709 truck, collectively worth around Rs 14 lakh, after finding that a high-powered plasma sound system was being used during a Ganesh idol installation procession in the Shambhu Colony area of Mohammadwadi.

The action was taken around 5.30pm on Monday near the Shell petrol pump in Mohammadwadi after police received information about a DJ being played at a high volume in the area.

A police team reached the spot and, with the assistance of a technician, inspected the sound system. The inspection found that a plasma sound system exceeding the prescribed capacity was being used during the procession.

Police subsequently seized the DJ sound system and the truck used to transport it. The Tata 709 truck is valued at around Rs 7 lakh, while the sound system is also estimated to be worth around Rs 7 lakh.

The seized sound system comprises two bass units, two top speakers, a mixing machine and a plasma system.

The action was taken as part of the police drive against high-volume DJ systems during the Ganesh festival.
