PMC Fines Two Salisbury Park Bakeries Rs 50,000 for Improper Waste Disposal
Gultekdi, 15th July 2026 : The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has imposed a total fine of ₹50,000 on two bakeries in Salisbury Park after they were found violating sanitation norms by improperly disposing of waste and releasing drainage water into stormwater drains and nearby nullahs. The action was taken during a joint enforcement drive conducted by the Kasba Peth Ward Office on Tuesday.
The inspection was carried out across Ward Nos. 22, 23 and 24 as part of PMC’s ongoing efforts to curb public nuisance and improve sanitation. During the drive, officials found that Golden Bakery and Indian Bakery had allegedly created unhygienic conditions by dumping waste carelessly and illegally discharging drainage water into public drainage infrastructure.
Following the inspection, the civic body imposed a penalty of ₹25,000 on each bakery, bringing the total fine to ₹50,000. According to the PMC, the amount was recovered on the spot.

The enforcement drive was conducted under the guidance of Santosh Barkade, Deputy Commissioner, Solid Waste Management Department, Madhav Jagtap, Deputy Commissioner (Circle No. 5), and Timmappa Janale, Assistant Municipal Commissioner of the Kasba Peth Ward Office. The inspection team included Senior Health Inspector Rahul Rajguru along with Health Inspectors Amol Londhe, Tasif Deshpande, and Chandravadan Gayakwad.
PMC officials said strict action against businesses and individuals responsible for spreading unhygienic conditions will continue in the Kasba Peth ward. The civic body also appealed to commercial establishments and residents to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings and cooperate with the municipal administration in ensuring a cleaner city.
