Pune, 15th July 2026: The pass percentage in Maharashtra’s supplementary Class X and XII board examinations declined this year, with the State Board attributing the trend to stricter enforcement of anti-copying measures during the exams.

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) on Tuesday declared the results of the SSC and HSC supplementary examinations. The SSC examination recorded a pass percentage of 29.53, down from 36.48 in 2025 and 36.78 in 2024. The HSC supplementary examination registered a pass percentage of 38.72, compared with 43.65 last year, though it remained higher than the 32.46 recorded in 2024.

Board officials said enhanced monitoring and stricter vigilance to ensure a copy-free examination led to lower pass percentages. Girls outperformed boys in both examinations. In SSC, the pass percentage among girls stood at 34.06 against 27.75 for boys, while in HSC, 43.88 per cent of girls cleared the examination compared with 36.11 per cent of boys.

Of the 51,313 students who appeared for the SSC supplementary examination, 15,157 passed. In HSC, 39,518 of the 1,02,050 candidates who appeared cleared the examination.

Among SSC divisions, Nashik recorded the highest pass percentage at 41.45, while Konkan reported the lowest at 12.26. In HSC, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar topped the state with a pass percentage of 52.90, whereas Konkan remained at the bottom with 20.9.

Science students recorded the highest pass percentage in the HSC supplementary examination at 64.95, followed by commerce (22.40), arts (21.40), ITI (30.49) and vocational courses (18.34).

The board also announced that 18,482 SSC students who failed in one or two subjects would be eligible for admission to Class XI for the 2026-27 academic year under the ATKT (Allowed To Keep Terms) scheme.

Students can apply online for verification of marks and photocopies of answer sheets between July 15 and July 24. Those seeking revaluation must first obtain a photocopy of their answer book and submit their application within five working days of receiving it.
