Pune, 27th November 2023: In a bid to combat worsening air quality, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has taken a stern stance against Builders who have failed to comply with recently introduced guidelines aimed at reducing air pollution in the city. Following the release of regulations on November 2, 2023, the PMC has issued notices to 124 developers for their non-compliance with these crucial measures.

These notices, with 57 handed out between November 22 and 24, and the remaining 67 dispatched on a single day, Saturday, have requested detailed reports from the Builders regarding the actions taken to address the pressing issue of air pollution.

Notably, the Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI) Pune chapter has pledged its support to the PMC’s initiative and urged its members to swiftly implement measures aimed at curbing air pollution. However, it’s emphasized that no builders have been instructed to halt their construction activities as of yet.

According to PMC officials, developers are obligated to regularly monitor and control pollution levels on their construction sites. The PMC is rigorously inspecting and issuing notices to Builders found neglecting these crucial measures. If these appeals continue to be ignored, the PMC warns of taking necessary actions to halt construction work.
