PMC, PCMC Issue Order To Close All Shops Tomorrow To Reduce Crowding During Ganpati Visarjan In Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad

Pune/Pimpri, 18th September 2021: Keeping in mind crowding during Ganpati Visarjan (immersion) on Sunday (September 19), Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) and district administration have issued orders to close all shops (except those selling essential commodities).

All standalone shops, as well as those in malls, will remain closed except those selling medicines, milk will be allowed to open. Restaurants, hotels and food courts will remain open.

The decision to close shops on Sunday during Ganpati Visarjan was taken at the COVID review meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister on Friday. Accordingly, the district administration and municipal corporations issued orders.

There will be no immersion procession this year. All Ganesh mandals will immersion the idol in makeshift tanks. People can also immerse idols in mobile vans arranged by the municipal corporation.
