About 40,000 Candidates Apply For 214 Constable Posts With Pune City Police

Pune, 18th September 2021: The written examination for the 214 vacant posts of constables in the Pune Police Commissionerate will be held on October 5. For the first time in the police recruitment process, a written test will be conducted in advance. Hall tickets will be issued to all the candidates from September 22, informed Commissioner of Police Amitabh Gupta.

The information was given in this regard on Friday at a press conference. Additional Commissioner of Police (administration) Jalinder Supekar was also present on the occasion.

Gupta said, “The examination will be conducted by the Pune Police through a private system. An advertisement was issued in 2019 for the 214 vacant posts of Police Constables in the Pune Police Commissionerate. However, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the police recruitment process was delayed. Now that the virus infection has subsided, the recruitment process has resumed. 39,323 candidates have applied for 214 posts. It has been decided to hold a written exam. For the first time, the office of the Director-General of Police had instructed each unit to conduct a written examination through a private software company.

For this, the candidates will be provided with the hall ticket by email from September 22 onwards. CCTV, biometric facilities, video recording will be done to prevent any irregularities in the examination. The test will be conducted in 143 centres. For this recruitment 2,198 blocks have been prepared. Adherence to the Corona Rules will be a priority during the exam.”
