PMC To Suspend Water Supply Across Pune On April 3 For Pre-Summer Maintenance

Pune, 31st March 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will suspend the city’s water supply on Thursday, (3rd April) to carry out urgent pre-summer maintenance work. The civic administration has appealed to residents to cooperate during the shutdown. Water supply is expected to resume on Friday (4th April) with low pressure and some delays in the morning.

According to the PMC, the maintenance work will cover multiple water treatment plants, pumping stations, and major water tanks across the city. The affected facilities include the New Parvati Water Treatment Plant (500 MLD), the Old Parvati Water Treatment Plant, and all major water reservoirs under their jurisdiction. Additionally, Parvati Tanker Point, Bhama Askhed Water Plant, Cantonment Water Plant, Holkar Water Plant, and Vadgaon Water Plant will also undergo maintenance.

Other areas affected by the shutdown include Rajiv Gandhi Pumping Station in the Katraj Chowk area, with work planned at reservoirs such as Kedareshwar Tank, Mahadevnagar Tank, Agam Mandir Tank, and Shrihari Tank. Maintenance will also be carried out at Khadakwasla Jackwell, Warje Phase 1 and 2, Warje Water Plant, and its associated reservoirs in the Chandni Chowk, Gandhi Bhavan, and Pankard Club areas.

The PMC clarified that the maintenance work is essential to prevent unplanned water supply disruptions during the summer when demand surges. The planned repairs will address electrical, pumping, and structural issues at all the specified locations. Residents have been advised to use water judiciously and make necessary arrangements in advance.
