Pune, September 7, 2020: While unlocking the services of Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML), the administration has taken serious note of the ‘breakdown’ of the bus. Who is responsible for this ‘breakdown’ will be investigated now.
PMPML bus service started after a gap of five months on September 3. In this first phase, 421 buses are running on 180 routes. On the first day of service, a total of 54 buses broke down and on the second day 30 buses. PMPML chairman and managing director Rajendra Jagtap has taken note of it.
The PMPML administration claimed that before sending the buses on route or services they had done maintenance and repair of the buses. Now the Chief Engineer has submitted a report on why the ‘breakdown’ took place even after that.
‘Breakdown’ due to battery failure
Only 200 buses were running for essential services. Most of the PMPML buses were not operational for the last five months. Even after maintenance and repair, work buses brokedown due to the battery problems.
