Police case against Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ranveer Sing during shooting of Bajirao Mastani

bajirao-mastani shootingPune, October 16 : A non-cognisable offence has been registered against director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and actor Ranveer Sing during shooting of film Bajirao Mastani at Bhor Rajwada in Pune on Friday.

Advocate Wajid Khan has lodged the complaint alleging that he was manhandled and thrown out of the palace. “There are some government offices located inside. I was going to the electricity bill payment centre when Bhansali stopped me and asked to come later for my work. Ranveer joined him and ordered a security guard to move me out, who forcefully removed me from there,” Khan stated in his complaint.

Based on the complaint, Bhor police station under jurisdiction of Pune rural police has registered a non-cognisable (NC) case for offences under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

Police officials said that they will not arrest the director or the actor but issue them warning.

Bajirao Mastani is slated for release in December. The film stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra in the lead role. The film narrates the story of the the Maratha warrior – Peshwa(Prime Minister) Baji Rao I of the Maratha Empire and his second wife Mastani.
