Pune, 28th September 2025: The Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me Pune celebrated its silver jubilee on 27th September 2025 under the theme: “’Rooted in Faith, Driven by Vision,’’. The landmark event was attended by members of the Naga community and other guests.

The celebration was honored by the presence of esteemed guests, including Reverend Dr. H. Gideon, General Secretary of the Fellowship of Naga Baptist Association, who delivered an inspiring address. Dr. Neelam Gorhe, Deputy Chairperson and Member of the Legislative Council, Maharashtra, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor.

During her address, Dr. Gorhe reaffirmed Maharashtra’s commitment to fostering a strong bond with the North East community. She highlighted the government’s initiatives to expand opportunities, ensure safety and equality, and promote cultural exchange, while appreciating the community’s rich cultural heritage, evident in their beautiful traditional attire. In her message to the youth, Dr. Gorhe encouraged them to “dream big, seize opportunities,” and uphold the values of unity, service, and excellence.

The PNTMP student union was formed in 2000, though its origins trace back to 1981 when the first Poumai Naga student arrived in Pune. The city’s reputation as the “Oxford of the East” drew many students, and its esteemed institutions have provided opportunities for members to excel in diverse professional fields.

The silver jubilee celebration not only marked the organization’s significant milestone but also reinforced the strong ties that unite the community.
