Mumbai, 26th June 2023: Om Raut’s film Adipurush has been generating headlines ever since its release. The movie has garnered attention from all quarters, including some negative trolling. This mythological drama has received mixed reviews upon its release. Amidst all this, reports are suggesting that the makers initially intended to make the film in two parts, but Prabhas, the lead actor, opposed the idea and it was ultimately dropped. However, there is no official confirmation regarding this matter.

According to a report by ETimes, Om Raut wanted to divide the film into two parts due to its lengthy runtime of approximately three hours and twenty minutes. He intended to continue filming for another month to extend the duration. However, Prabhas convinced the director and the film’s team that a two-part approach would not be suitable for this particular film. Consequently, the creators abandoned their plan.

Adipurush features Prabhas in the role of Raghav, Kriti Sanon as Sita, and Saif Ali Khan as Ravan. The film was released on June 16 and earned a staggering amount of Rs 140 crore worldwide on its opening day. However, its box office performance declined significantly, reaching only Rs 5.5 crore in just seven days.

In response to the dwindling box office numbers and mounting criticism, the film’s makers recently announced a reduction in ticket prices for Thursday and Friday shows, lowering them to Rs 150. However, as a result of ongoing criticism and a subsequent decline in revenue on Monday and Tuesday, the prices were further reduced to Rs 112. The movie has encountered scrutiny regarding its purported misrepresentation of the Hindu epic Ramayana and its iconic characters.
