Praj Commences Vaccination Campaign For Its Employees
Pune, June 7, 2021: Praj Industries, India’s most accomplished industrial biotech company has completed the first phase of inoculation for its employees for protection against Covid-19. This is being organized with the help of Symbiosis University Hospital & Research Center, Lavale. The vaccine campaign was kicked off by Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Pro-Chancellor of Symbiosis International University (SIU), and Dr. Pramod Chaudhari, Founder Chairman of Praj. Also present on this occasion were Dr. Rajiv Yeravdekar, Dean, Health and Biological Sciences, SIU, and Mr. Shishir Joshipura, CEO & MD of Praj Industries.
Over 400 employees in the age group of 18 to 44 availed vaccination at Praj’s Headquarter in Hinjewadi on Friday. As a part of its employee care program, Praj is offering a vaccination facility free of charge. A vaccination program for employees at other locations is being rolled out shortly.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar said, “SIU is happy to be associated with Praj in this vaccination initiative for their employees. Our team of medical experts is rendering requisite vaccination services in accordance with the statutory guidelines. I am sure that this industry-institution collaboration will pave way for accelerating vaccination campaign in industrial belts to safeguard human lives”
While sharing his thoughts, Dr. Pramod Chaudhari said, “This is another association with Symbiosis and I wish to record the appreciation of efficient job being done by medical team of SIU. Employees are our most prized assets and their well-being is of utmost concern to us. We consider it as our prime duty to join forces with government authorities, public health system officials and institutions that are in the front line of battling covid. It has been an honour to do our bit to help strengthen hospital infrastructure and medical supplies. Vaccination is our best bet in the war against covid and I take this opportunity to urge everyone to secure vaccination at the earliest as per government guidelines.”
Second wave of covid has called for bolstering existing public health system infrastructure and also creating new. Demand for additional hospital beds equipped with ventilators and oxygen facilities has spiked. To fulfill its obligations towards society, Praj and its promoters offered financial assistance to several organizations such as MCCIA’s PPCR, Symbiosis hospital, KEM hospital, Covid care facility at Karve Institute, etc. that are at the forefront of the fighting pandemic.
