Private Doctors Key to Monsoon Disease Prevention: Pimpri Chinchwad Commissioner Shekhar Singh

Pimpri, 14th June 2025: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh emphasized the critical role of private doctors in preventing the spread of infectious diseases during the monsoon season. He assured that the municipal corporation will ensure timely delivery of information, guidance, and necessary resources to all medical practitioners.
“Our collective goal is to safeguard the health of every citizen,” Singh stated during a special webinar titled ‘Pre-Monsoon Care’ organized on Friday. The session was held in collaboration with the Indian Medical Association Pimpri Chinchwad Branch (IMA-PCB), Pimpri Chinchwad Doctors Association (PCDA), and the National Integrated Medical Association (NIMA).
Over 300 private doctors from across the city participated in the online event, which focused on tackling seasonal diseases like dengue, malaria, and chikungunya.
“Doctors should consistently convey the three principles of Check, Clean, and Cover to their patients,” Singh urged. “This will help implement preventive measures effectively at the city level, and coordinated efforts are crucial to achieving this goal.”
Dr. Deepak Salunkhe, a special resource speaker at the webinar, explained the symptoms, prevention strategies, clinical precautions, and reporting procedures related to insect-borne and water-borne illnesses. His clear and practical guidance was well-received, and the session concluded with a Q&A segment where participating doctors raised important queries that Dr. Salunkhe addressed comprehensively.
Dr. Anjali Dhone welcomed the attendees, while Health Medical Officer Dr. Laxman Gofane introduced the program. A vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Varsha Dange.
