Pro-Pakistani Slogans Raised At PFI Protest? Pune Police To Investigate

Pune, 24th September 2022: On Friday afternoon (September 23), a protest was held by the Popular Front of India (PFI) in front of the District Collectorate in Pune. PFI leaders, activists and supporters raised slogans against the raids being conducted by the central and state investigative agencies.
The officials said that the protesters also raised slogans praising the PFI and also blocked the road.
A video is also going viral on social media regarding the same. The video will be investigated.
DCP (Zone 2) Sagar Patil said they are looking into reports that some people raised pro-Pakistan slogans during the protest. The officer added that as part of the investigation, they were examining videos taken by their personnel and those going viral on social media.
The protest was held despite not getting permission. The police detained 42 people, including PFI members and supporters, during the protest on Friday. They were released after issuing a warning notice late in the night.
A case was registered against more than 60 people at the Bundagarden police station in the early hours of Saturday. The officials said that a case has been registered against the members and supporters of PFI under sections of the Indian Penal Code on charges of unlawful assembly, wrongful restraint to block the road and disobeying orders issued by government officials.
