Problem In Goods Train Engine Affects Train Schedule On Pune-Lonavala Route, Five Passenger Trains Affected
Pune 26th July 2023: A locomotive of a goods train was detained due to a failure at Pune-Lonavala route near Shelarwadi earlier today. This affected the other trains travelling on the route as it took over one hour to arrange the relief loco and resume operation on the track.
According to officials, five passenger trains on down line were affected due to this incident on Wednesday. The loco failure was reported at 9:18 am near Shelarwadi. Relief loco was arranged from Ghorpuri at 9:35 am and it was attached to to the goods train at 10:53 am. This delayed the operation by 95 minutes, said officials.
Three male trains including 12127 CSMT-Pune Intercity Express, 18520 LTT-VSKP, 11007 CSMT-Pune Deccan Express and two local trains including 01587 Talegaon-Pune and 01559 Lonavala-Pune were affected. It may be noted that the proposal to increase the railway track on Pune-Mumbai has been pending for a long. The officials earlier had claimed that the route required additional track but the demand is pending with the state government following some land related issues.
