Pune: Police Arrests Notorious Criminals In Kirkatwadi, Restores Confidence Amongst Residents
Kirkatwadi, 26th July 2023: A long-standing menace to the peaceful life of ordinary citizens in Sinhagad Road, Kirkatwadi, and Khadakwasla area, the notorious criminal Vaibhav Ikkar, finally faced apprehension by the Pune rural police.
On Sunday, Ikkar, along with his accomplice Chetan Chorghe, wreaked havoc by looting a hotel adjacent to Sinhagad Road and displaying aggressive behavior towards the responding police officers and employees.
The 23-year-old innkeeper, Ikkar, had been terrorizing the locality for a considerable time, showing no regard for the law or the safety of the common people. Despite multiple instances of attacking law enforcement personnel in the past and having several serious crimes filed against him, he continued to instill fear among residents.
The incident on Sunday prompted the hotelier to register a complaint against Ikkar and Chorghe, leading to Officer-in-Charge Anmol Mittal initiating strict action against the criminals.
In an effort to restore confidence among the residents and demonstrate that the law is above fear and intimidation, a team from the Haveli police accompanied Ikkar and Chorghe to the hotel they had targeted. The police provided the criminals with ‘appropriate treatment’, ensuring that they experienced the consequences of their actions.
