Prohibitory Orders Imposed in Pimpri Chinchwad for Lok Sabha Polls in Pune, Shirur, and Maval

Pimpri Chinchwad, 10th May 2024: The constituencies of Pune, Shirur, and Maval are included in the Lok Sabha polling scheduled for the fourth phase within the jurisdiction of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC).

To ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the elections, prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC have been enforced within the PCPC’s limits. These orders will remain in effect until midnight on Tuesday (14th), as directed by Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey.

The following restrictions will be enforced:

– On polling day, presiding officers, government officials appointed for election duties, and those designated for maintaining law and order, relevant to the election, are permitted within the polling station and 100 meters of its vicinity. The use of mobile phones, smartphones, and wireless or communication devices by others is prohibited.

– Temporary party offices cannot be established within 200 meters of the polling station, including in religious, educational institutions, or areas encroaching upon public space.

– Individuals under security protection are barred from entering within 100 meters of the polling station, accompanied by security personnel.

– Election booths cannot be situated within 200 meters of the polling station. Even if multiple polling booths are housed in the same building, a candidate cannot possess more than one booth within that building.

– Campaigning within 200 meters of the polling station is strictly prohibited on polling day.

– Vehicles are prohibited from entering within a 200-meter radius of the polling station.

– The use of loudspeakers, megaphones, shouting, or causing any form of commotion or misbehaviour is prohibited within 100 meters of the polling station.

– Forty-eight hours before the end of polling, non-voting political or campaign workers are prohibited from residing within the constituency where polling is to be conducted.

– Sending bulk messages for political propaganda purposes is prohibited starting from 48 hours before the end of polling.

– Carrying any type of weapon within 200 meters of the polling station on polling day is strictly prohibited.
