Pune, 15th January 2026: The ISMS Group of Institutions recently hosted students and faculty from Leeds Beckett University’s Carnegie School of Sports for an enriching eight-day student mobility program at its Pune campus. The program offered the visiting students a unique opportunity to understand India, its culture, and sports, while also exploring Pune’s rich historical heritage and experiencing its local cuisine.

ISMS Group of Institutions is a strong supporter of sports for their students’ well-being. They conduct friendly matches for their students every fortnight, as the institution believes that sports help promote teamwork, create a mental and physical balance and enable clear thinking, thereby enhancing skills beyond classroom sessions, which are highly valued in today’s corporate world.

Friendly cricket and football matches were conducted on the Days 2 and 3 of the student mobility program, on January 7th and 8th at Mango Tree world in Bavdhan-Bhugaon, Pune.  Students from both ISMS Pune and Leeds Beckett University participated with full energy and enthusiasm, fostering unity in motion and showcasing their athletic skills through the universal language of sports, which brought students from different countries together.

On the 5th day our guests from the UK accompanied by their ISMS peers climbed to the Pune’s most iconic historical site Sinhagad fort for a trek. The UK students felt that the mesmerizing view from the top was a feast for the eyes and a reward to the mind after climbing the hill for about one and half hours.

Ms. Shalini Banerjee, Founder and Executive Director of ISMS Group of Institutions, gave a soul-stirring talk on the eighth day of the student mobility program. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the UK staff and students for enjoying every moment of their stay and for making it easy for ISMS to serve them in a dignified manner. She was delighted that ISMS left no stone unturn in upholding India’s tradition of welcoming guests, embodying the essence of “Atithi Devo Bhava” meaning “Guest is God”. She further expressed her happiness that, from understanding India and its culture to exploring the cities’ cultural and historical heritage and local cuisine, from scoring goals in friendly matches to trekking ancient forts, the 2026 student mobility program has strengthened the sixteen-year collaboration between ISMS Group of Institutions and Leeds Beckett University, delivering lifetime memories that will be cherished as part of ISMS’s legacy.

Describing the success of the event, Ms. Banerjee stated, “ISMS has always strived to ensure that our students gain global exposure and that their career opportunities are not limited locally but extend globally, by enhancing the skills they need to grow in a fast-changing and dynamic world.”
