Pune: 1 Worker Dead, 3 Critically Injured After Under Construction Building Slab Collapses In Wanowrie

Wanowrie, 2nd May 2022: The slab of an under-construction building (cultural centre of Bohra community) collapsed today killing a worker and injuring four others. By 10 pm, one person was discharged while three others are still in the ICU of a private hospital.

 

The deceased was identified as Ram Naresh Patel (45), a resident of Wanowrie. The injured persons are Chhatrasingh Dhumketi (28), Barsingh Parta (37), Sandeep Kumar Ulke (18) and Dipchand Marabi (27).

 

At around 4:20 pm Kondhwa Fire Station received a call from the locals of Shanti Nagar, Wanowrie, about the incident. The fire station sent two vehicles and seven firemen to the spot near Alankar Hall. They rescued the labourers and rushed them to Inamdar Hospital in Fatima Nagar.

 

Due to the serious injuries, one of the five men passed away within a few minutes of arriving at the hospital. He was 45-years-old. Three others are still in a critical state. One worker has been discharged.

 

The fire brigade team engaged in the rescue work included Shubash Khade, Nilesh Wankadhe, Arif Shaikh, Santosh Mane, Harshad Yewale, Suraj Taru and Manoj Gaikwad.

 

The process of registering an FIR was going on at Wanowrie police station till late night.
