Pune: 104-Years-Old Man Observes 30 Days Fast In Ramzan; Prays For COVID Free World On Eid
Pune, 14th May 2021: A British-Indian Army veteran Haji Ibrahim Alim Joad (104) from Sanjay Park near Viman Nagar has observed a complete 30 days Roza (fast) in the month of Ramzan. On the occasion of Eid-Al-Fitr, he prayed for India’s and the world’s recovery from the COVID19 pandemic.
Joad, a native of Rajasthan, had served in the British Indian Army for three years. He moved to Pune in 1950. He has 10 sons, two daughters and 270 family members who live in Yerwada, Viman Nagar, and Vadgaonsheri. His family is engaged in the construction business.

Joad said, “I prayed to Allah for everybody’s wellbeing and to end COVID19 pandemic.”
His grandson Tanveer Nasir Joad (47) said, “My grandfather fasted in Ramzan for 30 days at this age even though we requested not to fast due to the pandemic. Observing 14 hours fast in this summer season without water and food is a herculean task for even many young people.”
Talking about his grandfather’s fitness regime, Tanveer said, “He is punctual about his morning walks and as well as food timings.”
