Pune: 11-Year-Old Boy Dies After Getting Stuck in Lift on Dussehra in Charholi
Pimpri Chinchwad, 3rd October 2025: In a tragic incident on the day of Dussehra, an 11-year-old boy died after getting trapped in a lift at Ram Smriti Society, B Wing, Shriram Colony, Charholi Phata, within the jurisdiction of Dighi Police Station. The deceased has been identified as Amey Sahebrao Fartade.
According to police, the incident occurred around 4.45 pm on Thursday when Amey was reportedly playing by going upstairs via the staircase and returning downstairs using the lift. During this, he got stuck between the two doors of the lift and sustained severe injuries.
Fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and pulled him out in a critical condition. He was immediately shifted to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead during treatment.
The sudden accident has left the Fartade family and local residents in deep shock and grief.
Dighi Police have registered the case as an accidental death (ADR No. 102/2025) under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is underway.
